Auditions Advisory
A cautionary word about AUDITIONS.
Auditioning is, of course, the main route to getting a dancing contract.
It can also be a very expensive and frustrating process.
We are advised that commercial and sponsorship duties commit certain companies to holding regular auditions.
Those companies will, therefore, hold auditions even though they may not have the slightest intention of hiring anybody.
Before you decide to audition, do try to find out more about the company and understand who they are and what they’re looking for.
Communicate with the company.
- Ask: how many jobs are they auditioning for?
- How many male? How many female?
- Are they corps or soloist?
- Are there height stipulations?
- Required experience?
- Is the company excluding holders of certain passports?
Try to open a line of communication with the Director.
Going through these steps will help make sure you don’t waste your time and money, but rather audition on a level playing field.
